Linea Spindle is a linear multi spindle
with opposed vertical spindles
Only a 15 minute set-up time!
Compared to traditional bar stock fed multi spindles, this 4-spindle CNC machine guarantees higher precision, versatility, production flexibility and waste reduction. The particular strength of Linea Spindle is the reduction of the set-up time to just 15 minutes. This is possible due to the architecture and organization of the multi spindle itself, which is divided into two totally independent work areas. This allows you not only to replace a tool, but also to fully retool the machine without stopping the production cycle. Machine downtimes are thus kept to an absolute minimum, leading to important savings in the production process.
Linea Spindle is a CNC machine that is ideal for sectors needing the production of extremely large families of pieces, such as for hydraulics, oil hydraulics, automotive, fittings, and so on.
Turning systems: What’s on the market?
What does the market for specialised machinery for turning systems offer? Multispindle, single-spindle, CNC machines, transfer…
What are the main characteristics of the most commonly used machines? And what, above all, are their limitations.
Here is a brief overview that can help to focus on both the potential and the main problems of the sector.
Turning: the problems of bar machining/2
We resume our analysis of single-spindle, multi-spindle and CNC machines working with bar. It is well known (see article link) that machining from bar is the most common production system, but this also has its problems, which we will analyse after looking at vibration problems, inertia instability and the various effects on the machine.
Turning: the problems of bar machining/1
In the world of bar turning, the most common production system is machining from bar. Why? Because it is the most logical. It is no coincidence that practically all single and multi-spindle machines use it: it is by far the most common system for most turned parts. This is a fact.
Linea Spindle’s precision
They say the latest generation of multispindles are much more precise. However, none can completely resolve all of the problems.
The new CNC multispindles have certainly improved production, but have not done away with the issue of bar stock vibrations. For this reason, traditional multispindles can never be as precise as a machine that processes cut bar.
Linea Spindle’s excellent chip and swarf management
The problem of long chips is a challenge, and difficult to solve completely. What can be done is to manage chips in a slightly different way, for example, using special ergonomic arrangements of vertical spindles to help with chip extraction.
